Christmas dinner for smaller parties

Our KRAV-certified restaurant, Tekniska by Pontus, serves up a Christmas dinner that exudes sustainability and innovation. It is also adapted to fit guidelines regarding the Corona virus. The team in the kitchen invites you to a culinary experience that is good for both the palate and the environment. In this year’s Christmas dinner, you will find both traditional Christmas dishes with a twist as well as modern vegetarian dishes. 

The Christmas dinner comprises four services at the table in a buffet form – which promotes conversation around the table, is decorative and also helps to reduce food waste. Dessert, confectionery and coffee is also included.

New! For the Christmas dinner 2020 the restaurant offers smaller parties, with a minimum of 4 people/party up to maximum of 45 people/party, one date in December, when they can book seats for the Christmas dinner, according to the Basic package.

The National Museum of Science and Technology has on this date regular opening hours in the evening with free admission from 17:00 hrs. You are most welcome to explore and visit the museum’s exciting and interactive exhibitions before you are seated for the Christmas dinner.

Reservations for Christmas dinner for smaller parties are valid on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.

All prices are per person. 

Number of guests: minimum 4 persons / party – maximum 45 persons / party.

VAT is added.

Basic package: SEK 750 (SEK 866 incl. VAT)

There is an additional cost for drinks: SEK 200 (SEK 250 incl. VAT) per person and includes 1 mulled wine, 2 units of beer/wine or non-alcoholic beverage (3 – 4 units), and coffee. 

Children 1 – 13 years: pay SEK 20 per year of age (SEK 23 incl. VAT) for the Christmas dinner. Beverages for children are ordered and charged on site.

Please note that the restaurant considers, as far as possible, the pre-registered special diet, such at allergies, vegetarian, vegan, diabetes and the like.

First service 

Pickled aubergine and a pickled herring, served with butter, cheese, crispbread, buttermilk bread and potatoes. 

Second service 

Varieties of carrots and trout, eggs, seaweed caviar and Västerbotten cheese. 

Third service – cold meats 

Fermented yellow peas, rolled sausage meat, chicken liver paté and ecological ham.

Fourth service – small main 

Elk meatballs, game chipolatas, Brussels sprouts, Jansson’s temptation, omelette. 

Dessert and coffee

Crème brûlée, saffron pancake, orange chocolate, confectionery products and coffee.

Vegetarian Christmas dinner menu 

Please note that in order to serve the vegetarian Christmas dinner menu, the whole party is served the same menu.

Practical information

Program for Christmas dinner, December 16

From 17:00 hrs: You are welcome to pay for the pre-booked Christmas dinner at the main entrance of the museum. One payment to be made per party/reservation. Separate unmanned wardrobe for Christmas dinner guests can be found in the restaurant/banquet hall.

18:30-19:15 hrs: All Christmas dinner guests are to be gathered in the restaurant/banquet hall to enjoy mulled wine, cheese and gingerbread. Followed by the serving of the Christmas dinner in buffet style by each table.

20:00 hrs: The museum incl. the main entrance is closed to the public. Only the restaurant/banquet hall is still open for the guests attending the Christmas dinner.

23:00 hrs: The restaurant close for the evening and the Christmas dinner comes to an end. All guests leave the restaurant through a separate exit directly from the restaurant without passing through the museum.

Booking, cancellation regulations and payment conditions

Booking regulations

For booking of the Christmas dinner package on December 16, a minimum charge is applied for 4 guests/party. The maximum number of persons/party that can be booked for this date is 45 persons/party.

Preliminary bookings can be held for a maximum of five days or by special agreement.   

Special diets requirements and number must be confirmed at the latest one week prior to the event.

The booking is binding from the time the customer has confirmed the booking in writing via email to, eventbokning@tekniskamuseet.se

Cancellation regulations

For cancellation that occur 15 days prior to the Christmas dinner at the latest, is free of charge.

Reduction of the number of guests in a party can be done free of charge by a maximum of 10% up to 48 hours before the Christmas dinner (however no lower than the minimum charge limit for Christmas dinner package, which is a charge for 4 persons).

Parties with 4 – 10 persons: For cancellation of more than 10% of the reservation (however no lower than the minimum charge limit for Christmas dinner package, which is a charge for 4 persons), that take place from 14 days prior up to 48 hours prior the Christmas dinner will be charged 50% of the cost . For cancellation made later than 48 hours prior to the Christmas dinner 100% of the total cost will be charged, as well as the cost for any extra additional bookings.

Parties with 11 – 45 persons: For cancellation of more than 10% of the reservation, that take place from 14 days or later up to the event, 100% of the total cost for booked Christmas dinner will be charged, as well as any extra additional bookings.

Payment conditions

Parties with 4 – 10 persons: Payment of pre-booked food and beverages takes place on arrival to the museum at the main entrance between 17:00 – 18:30 hrs. One payment to be made per party/reservation

Extra drinks are ordered and paid for on site in the restaurant.

Parties with 11 – 45 persons: When booking a Christmas dinner for larger parties from 11 – 45 persons, on December 16, advance payment / invoicing corresponding to 50% of the total value of the booking will be charged. The advance payment must be paid by 1 December at the latest, that is 15 days prior to the Christmas dinner.

The remaining 50% of the booking is paid on site (one payment to be made per party/reservation) on arrival in the main entrance between 17:00 – 18:30 hrs, or by invoice if agreed upon with the event reservation in connection with the booking of the Christmas dinner.

Extra drinks are ordered and paid for on site in the restaurant.
