Summer at Tekniska

Summer at Tekniska is anything but ordinary. As Sweden’s Museum of the Year 2025, we’re rolling out an action-packed summer break where technology meets imagination, science turns into play – and the future comes to life. From robot dogs and aquatic drones to 3D space journeys: there’s something for the whole family, every day from July 1 to August 12.

Explore 12 exhibitions across 12,000 square meters – and with 12 hours of opening time each day, there’s plenty of time to experience it all. End the day with a barbecue in the museum park or stick around for an evening show in our futuristic planetarium. At Tekniska, your summer in the city becomes both easy and unforgettable.

Meet Tech Puppy

How about a dog that does tricks, follows you with sensors – and waves to the crowd? Meet Tech Puppy, the robot dog powered by Ericsson, and join a short walk from the entrance to the Wooden Hall. There, it shows off its best moves in a mini-show that runs several times a day. It’s the kind of performance that melts hearts of all ages.

Objects from the future

The museum’s archivists have discovered mysterious objects from the future – but what are they, really? In this imaginative and speculative design workshop, children aged 6 and up are invited to help figure out what the objects do and how they might help us tackle today’s climate challenges. Step into the Future Archive, pick an item from the box, and draw, write, and imagine.

Sphero

In this playful outdoor workshop, children from age 3 and up get to explore how round robots can be adapted to water environments. Build, test, learn about friction and Newton’s third law – and compete to see who creates the fastest water robot! A summery activity full of movement, tech, and laughter.
