Free entrance to refugees
The museum has decided to give free admission to people who have fled their home countries and seek protection in Sweden. The LMA card from the Swedish Migration Board is valid as an entrance ticket. In regards with the ongoing war in Ukraine, a Ukrainian passport is also valid as an entrance ticket.
There are more important things than a visit to the Tekniska museet. But we also know how important it is for families in crisis to create a functioning everyday life where play and curiosity can prosper. To find a space where families can come together and for a moment share experiences that are not always about the acute crisis. The museum is a safe place where everyone is welcome.
Solidarity with Ukraine and a call to respect cultural heritage
During the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the Museum wants to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people. We support our colleagues in museums and other institutions in the country who protect the cultural heritage that risks being damaged and lost in the war. Therefore, the Ukrainian flag is hoisted outside the museum. We encourage visitors to contribute to the Nordic Museum’s fund for the preservation of cultural heritage in Ukraine. The fund operates in close dialogue with the National Heritage Board, the central museums and museums in Sweden and the Nordic countries.
The fund is aimed at both institutions and private individuals and you can donate through:
Bankgiro: 5475-9758
Swish: 1236280424
Label: Collection to Ukraine
See Nordiska museet for more information.
