Interactive exhibits

Italia del Futuro contains many interactive exhibits. For example, you can relive the very first moments of the Universe, a time preceding the existence of mass. Try out the self-cleaning fabric, which has been subjected to a process of ceramization. There is also a Virtual Reality installation where you will be able to use body movements to explore the Etruscan culture.

Within the field of robotics, you can try to make a robot climb on a vertical wall. As part of this exhibition, there is also iCub – the child-like humanoid robot which provides a testbed for research into human cognition and artificial intelligence. There is also the plant-like robot, Plantoid, which is broadly based on the morphology of a plant’s root system. This exhibition also features the Dustbot, a robot that is designed to perform an “on demand” door-to-door waste collection service.

About Italia del Futuro

Robotics, particle physics and technologies for the restoration and conservation of the archaeological and cultural heritage are just some of the subjects featured in this exhibition. Visitors have the opportunity to touch and experience first-hand some of the most important results of Italian research. Italia del Futuro is promoted by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs in cooperation with some of the main Italian scientific institutions such as the National Research Council (CNR), the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the St. Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa.

The National Museum of Science and Technology hosted the exhibition Italia del Futuro in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Sweden and the National Research Council in Italy (CNR).
