Christmas dinner for smaller parties

This year’s Christmas dinner buffet offers traditional Christmas dishes with a twist as well as modern vegetarian dishes. The team in the kitchen invites you to a culinary experience that is good for both the palate and the environment. Choose between three dates during November and December for the opportunity to experience a Christmas dinner buffet inspired by sustainability and innovation.

As a result of last year success, the restaurant offers smaller parties, with a minimum of 4 people up to a maximum of 45 people/party, three dates, when they can book seats for the Christmas dinner buffet. This offer is available on Wednesday 30 November, 7 December and 14 December (pre-booking only).

The pre-booked guests for the Christmas dinner buffet these evenings are welcome to visit the museum’s exhibitions prior to the dinner. The exhibitions that can be visited are Zero City, Hyper Human, Mega Mind, Play Beyond Play or The Mine. A special treat, free of charge, only offered to the guests to the Christmas dinner buffet, is the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a pop-up show, before you are seated for the Christmas dinner.

Herring – traditional & with a twist

A vegetarian version of pickled herring made from aubergine and pickled herring, Arctic herring and potatoes. This is served with crispbread, buttermilk bread, herb bread, Christmas cheese & whipped butter.

Vegetarian menu: Versions of pickled herring made from aubergine served with potatoes, crispbread, buttermilk bread, herb bread, Christmas cheese & whipped butter.

Two versions of Salmon

Cold-smoked Salmon and gravlax Salmon served with Hovmästarsås sauce and a sauce on seaweed caviar and Västerbotten cheese.

Vegetarian menu: Dived carrot with Hovmästarsås sauce, Vegan Salmon from carrot, a sauce on seaweed caviar, eggs and Västerbotten cheese.

Cold cut of ham with side dishes

Saffron cauliflower with pomegranate, air-dried ham with blue cheese and cranberries, served with classic organic grilled Christmas ham with Skånsk mustard.

Vegetarian menu: Saffron cauliflower with pomegranate, grilled celeriac, pear and Chevré on a bed of arugula.

Small main with a combination of classical dishes and game

Game meatballs, game sausages, Brussels sprouts, Jansson’s temptation, omelette.

Vegetarian menu: Homemade vego-balls, ecological vego-sausages, Brussels sprouts, Jansson’s temptation, omelette.

Dessert

Saffron Crème brûlée, glazed apple cake served in a glass & confectionery products.

Practical information

Program for Christmas dinner, 30 November, 7 & 14 December.

From 17:00: You are welcome to pay for the pre-booked Christmas dinner at the main entrance of the museum. Separate unmanned wardrobe for Christmas dinner guests will be available.

17:00-18:45: Guests of the Christmas dinner have the opportunity to visit the museum’s exhibitions. There will be two pop-up show performances, pre-booking of seats is necessary.

18:15-19:00: All Christmas dinner guests are to be gathered in the restaurant/banquet hall to enjoy mulled wine and gingerbread with an accompaniment. Followed by the Christmas dinner buffet.

18:30: Last time for arrival and payment of pre-booked Christmas dinner at the main entrance.

23:00: The restaurant close for the evening and the Christmas dinner comes to an end. All guests leave the restaurant through a separate exit directly from the restaurant without passing through the museum.

Booking, cancellation regulations and payment conditions

Booking regulations

For booking of the Christmas dinner package on 30 November, 7 & 14 December, a minimum charge is applied for 4 people/party. The maximum number of persons/party that can be booked for this date is 45 people/party.

Preliminary bookings can be held for a maximum of five days or by special agreement.
Special diets requirements and number must be confirmed at the latest one week prior to the event.

The booking is binding from the time the customer has confirmed the booking in writing via email to eventbokning@tekniskamuseet.se

Cancellation regulations

Cancellation that occur 15 days prior to the Christmas dinner at the latest, is free of charge.

Reduction of the number of guests in a party can be done free of charge by a maximum of 10% up from 14 days to 48 hours before the Christmas dinner (however no lower than the minimum charge limit for Christmas dinner package, which is a charge for 4 people).

Parties with 4 – 10 people: For cancellation of more than 10% of the reservation (however no lower than the minimum charge limit for Christmas dinner package, which is a charge for 4 people), that take place from 14 days prior up to 48 hours prior the Christmas dinner will be charged 50% of the cost . For cancellation made later than 48 hours prior to the Christmas dinner 100% of the total cost will be charged, as well as the cost for any extra additional bookings.

Parties with 11 – 45 people: For cancellation of more than 10% of the reservation, that take place from 14 days or later up to the event, 100% of the total cost for booked Christmas dinner will be charged, as well as any extra additional bookings.

Payment conditions

Parties with 4 – 10 people: Payment of pre-booked food and beverages takes place on arrival to the museum at the main entrance between 17:00 – 18:30 hrs. One payment to be made per party/reservation.
Extra drinks are ordered and paid for on site in the restaurant.

Parties with 11 – 45 people: When booking a Christmas dinner for larger parties from 11 – 45 persons, on 30 November, 7 and 14 December, advance payment / invoicing corresponding to 50% of the total value of the booking will be charged. The advance payment must be paid at the latest, 15 days prior to the Christmas dinner.

The remaining 50% of the booking is paid on site (one payment to be made per party/reservation) on arrival in the main entrance between 17:00 – 18:30 hrs, or by invoice if agreed upon with the event reservation in connection with the booking of the Christmas dinner.

Extra drinks are ordered and paid for on site in the restaurant.
