Our KRAV-certified restaurant, Tekniska by Pontus, serves up a Christmas dinner that exudes sustainability and innovation. The team in the kitchen invites you to a culinary experience that is good for both the palate and the environment. In this year’s Christmas dinner, you will find both traditional Christmas dishes with a twist as well as modern vegetarian dishes. 

The Christmas dinner comprises four services at the table in a buffet form – which promotes conversation around the table, is decorative and also helps to reduce food waste. Dessert, confectionery and coffee is served on a shared buffet for all guests.

We offer three different packages: a basic package and two further options where you get to experience more of the National Museum of Science and Technology. You can choose to start by mingling with a glass of mulled wine in our Innovation exhibition or enjoy an exclusive experience in one of our exciting and interactive exhibitions. 

Christmas dinners can be booked between 27 November – 18 December 2020.

Christmas dinner in the restaurant 

In the restaurant Tekniska by Pontus, you and your party can enjoy a Christmas buffet in a playful and creative environment, which you have all to yourselves. The restaurant caters parties of 46–100 people and has fixed furnishing in various zones.

Banquet hall, Eventrummet

If you and your party are looking for a large, flexible venue for Christmas dinner or a Christmas party, then we can offer our banquet hall, Eventrummet. It can be hired for parties of 46–250 people and measures 273 m2. You have access to a stage, basic technology for speeches and lighting, as well as a screen solution with three projection surfaces and associated projectors. There will also be a technician on site during the evening. As the furnishing is flexible, it is possible to sit around islands or at long tables.

All prices are per person. The lowest price is calculated for 201–250 people. VAT is added.

*The cost for hiring additional furniture will be added if your party comprises more than 200 people.

Transport 

If you need help with transport to Tekniska, we can offer a bus between Cityterminalen (or any other address in Stockholm’s inner city) and the National Museum of Science and Technology from SEK 68 per person + VAT (including a 25% discount). The buses are powered by fossil-free fuel.

Please note that the restaurant considers, as far as possible, the pre-registered special diet, such at allergies, vegetarian, vegan, diabetes and the like.

First service 

Pickled aubergine and a pickled herring, served with butter, cheese, crispbread, buttermilk bread and potatoes. 

Second service 

Varieties of carrots and trout, eggs, seaweed caviar and Västerbotten cheese. 

Third service – cold meats 

Fermented yellow peas, rolled sausage meat, chicken liver paté and ecological ham.

Fourth service – small main 

Elk meatballs, game chipolatas, Brussels sprouts, Jansson’s temptation, omelette. 

Dessert and coffee to be collected from a shared buffet

Crème brûlée, saffron pancake, orange chocolate, confectionery products and coffee.

Vegetarian Christmas dinner menu

Please note that in order to serve the vegetarian Christmas dinner menu, the whole party is served the same menu.  

First service

Booking and cancellation regulations and payment conditions, Christmas dinner 2020

Booking regulations

For booking of the Christmas dinner packages (Basic, Intermediate or Full) there will be a minimum charged for 46 persons/booking.

Preliminary bookings can be held for a maximum of one week or by special agreement.   

The booking is binding from the time the customer has confirmed the booking in writing via email to, eventbokning@tekniskamuseet.se

Cancellation of Christmas Dinner the Basic, Intermediate or Full Package.

The Christmas Dinner packages includes food, rental of chamber separee (restaurant or banquet hall), staff, technician (included in the booking of the banquet hall) and activity in the full package regarding exclusive access to an exhibition.

  • For cancellations made from the date of confirmed booking up to two months before the event, 50% of the total cost for the room and activity is charged.
  • For cancellations that occur later than two months up to 31 days before the event, 75% of the total cost for the room and activity is charged.
  • For cancellations that takes place from 30 days to 15 days prior to the event, 100% of the total cost for the room, activity and staff incl. technician (included in the booking of the banquet hall), as well as any extra additional bookings is charged.
  • For cancellations that take place from 14 days or later up to the event, 100% of the total cost for booked Christmas dinner packages (Basic, Intermediate or Full) will be charged, as well as any extra additional bookings.

Food and beverages

In connection with booking, a preliminary number of participants must be stated, at least a minimum of 46 persons for booking of the Christmas dinner packages.

  • Two weeks prior to the event, the number of participants must be confirmed at the latest, a minimum charge for 46 persons is applied for bookings of the Christmas dinner packages.
  • Reduction of this number can be done free of charge by maximum of 10% up to 8 days before the event (however no lower than the minimum charge limit for Christmas dinner packages, which is a charge for 46 persons).
  • Reduction of the number of guests that are made 7 days or later up to the event are charged with 100% of the cost.
  • Special diets requirements and number must be confirmed at the latest one week prior to the event.

Payment conditions

Christmas dinner packages are invoiced with 30 days net.

Additional orders that are pre-booked can be placed on the invoice.
